Intel, noted as the world's largest semiconductor company, derives the majority of its
revenues from microprocessors. However a significant amount of the company's revenues is also derived from its communications
segment, which obtains revenue from the sell of flash memory chips and wireless chip sets to the cellular phone market. Another
one of Intel's main divisions includes chip sets and boards. In 2004, Intel's chipset, motherboard and other revenue
contributed $4.7 billion to the company's total revenue of $34.2 billion. Revenue from Intel's Integrated Communications
Group in 2004 was $5.0 billion, which included $2.3 billion from the sale of flash memory chips - up substantially from
$1.6 bilion in 2003. Intel's microprocessor revenue in 2004 was approximately $24.5 billion, up from $21.9 billion in 2003.
