MANUFACTURING PARTNERS

2004: Austriamicrosystems entered into an agreement to supply silicon based micromachine microphones to Knowles in December of 2004. The Sisonic microphone was originally planned for mass production in the second quarter of 2005. Earlier in 2004, Knowles also entered into manufacturing agreements with MEMSCAP and Sony Semiconductor Kyushu for the supply of MEMS microphone wafer services.

MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

Knowles Acoustics opened its second production facility in Suzhou China for the manufacture of its MEMS based silicon microphones in the middle of 2004. The facility is in addition to the company's manufacturing capacity at its headquarters in the United States.
