Nanocluster technology developed by Robert Dickson and Jie Zhang at Georgia Institute of Technology
Metal nanocluster technology exhibit small and bright fluorescent particles. They are composed of a few gold or silver atoms. Reported to exhibit up to ten times the fluorescence of semiconductor nanocrystals.
Applications include in vivo and in vitro. Allows single molecule detection. Labeling applications.
