GreenShift Invests in TerraPass – to Allow Car Owners to Completely Eliminate Car Emission Effects

GreenShift Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board:GSHF) has announced that it has completed an investment in TerraPass, Inc. That company has plans that would allow car owners to offset their effects of their car emissions through the investment in clean energy alternatives. With the purchase of a TerraPass, one would receive a decal that would certify that the car has eliminated the equivalent of its carbon dioxide emissions. GreenShift indicated that the TerraPass would allow consumers to purchase renewable energy certificates or RECs, which so far has been limited to organizations.

According to the company, the average car that travels 12,000 miles per year emits about 10,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year. In order to eliminate that Carbon Dioxide, the cost to a consumer would be about $50.00 per year. At such a low cost, it is eventually could be expected that state governments will take on the idea and add the $50.00 cost onto registration fees.

GreenShift's investment amounted to a 10 percent stake in the company for a purchase price of $250,000.
