Department of Energy Announces
$130 Million in Projects
The Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy Turbine Technology
R&D Program has selected 10 projects for advancement of turbines and turbine subsystems. The projects are related to both
large-scale and small-scale hydrogen turbines with power ratings. The projects are also focused on the generation of hydrogen
through the use of coal, high efficiency turbines, economical power plants and environmental friendly and low greenhouse emission
technology.
Awards announced include
$45.6 million for a 75-month project through General Electric
$45.5 million, 56 month project through Siemens Westinghouse Power
Corporation
$14.5 million, 56 month project through Siemens Westinghouse Power
Corporation
$4.5 million, 39 month project through Clean Energy Systems
$4.9 million, 60 month project through Precision Combustion, Inc.
$1.2 million, 32 month project through Parker Hannifin Corporation
$999,992, 22 month project through The Gas Technology Institute
$11 million, 60 month project through Ramgen Power Systems
$175,000, 12 month project through Southwest Research Institute
$603,012, 24 month project through The University of California
