Inflating Your Tires the Way Race Car Drivers Do –
With Nitrogen, Is Another Way to Save Gas?
N2Revolution, Inc. has
just released another way to save gas. Called the PurigeN98, this new device inflates your tires with nitrogen. According
to the company, race car drivers have for years used Nitrogen to inflate their tires as one way to obtain better handling
as well as fuel economy. Now, as of September 15 of 2005, N2Revolution, brings nitrogen to the average consumer with the introduction
of its flagship tire solution.
Among the benefits of PurigeN98, a tire inflation gas,
which is at a minimum 98 percent pure nitrogen, are improved vehicle performance and safety. N2Revolution says this is because
nitrogen gas “maintains proper inflation pressure more effectively.” As
well, because the tire pressure is maintained, the company indicates one can
expect more savings, because tires will last longer.
So where does
the fuel savings come in. Well, a car with proper inflated tires in general obtains better fuel economy. Tire companies, for instance, report that properly inflated tires can save about 3 percent on your
fuel consumption.
Robin Pearl, president of N2Revolution elaborated on the
product at the product launch, "As the purest tire inflation gas on the market,
PurigeN98 will be a key component in optimizing the performance of vehicles driven by the average consumers, and not just
the vehicles of professionals and a few others who are aware of this alternative."
In order to substantiate the benefits of nitrogen tires,
N2Revolution noted that nitrogen inflation has been used for decades in Formula One, NASCAR, heavy duty off road equipment,
as well as by NASA and both commercial and military aircraft.
The company also indicated that nitrogen gas could be used
for non-engine type vehicle tires, such as bicycle tires.
