Oxford Semiconductor Introduces SATA Bridge Chip
 
Oxford Semiconductor has announced the OXU921DS Dual Port SATA Bridge chip. The chip is intended for the design of external storage devices comes complete with both USB2.0 and External SATA connections. The chip has been designed to facilitate transparent data transfer between a USB2.0 port and two SATA disks. Integrated inside the chip is a USB link and PHY.
 
The chip, which comes complete with a development kit and evaluation board, is priced at $7.44 in quantities of 10,000.
