Automotive Components Make Large Contributions to Fuel Savings
 
Other fuel savings technologies center around new automotive components, such as light-weight rotors, automatic start-stop engine devices, and new cooling pumps. The Stop & Start device from Valeo is said to offer up to 15 percent in fuel savings, the cooling pump from Dana Corp up to 5 percent and the light weight rotor from Starfire Systems up to 8 percent per SUV axle. As well, in late stage development is the G2 Hy-Drive System from Hy-Drive. That system generates and injects hydrogen gas into a standard combustion engine.
