Institutions: OLED Shipments for Monitors Projected to Grow Over 50% This Year

According to South Korean media, against the backdrop of a sluggish TV market, panel manufacturers are gradually shifting their strategic focus to monitor panels. A report by market research firm UBI Research shows that global OLED shipments for monitors reached approximately 3.2 million units in 2025, a year-on-year increase of roughly 64% compared with 1.95 million units in 2023. The institution forecasts that OLED shipments for monitors will continue to grow by more than 50% this year, with shipments expected to hit around 5 million units.

UBI Research pointed out in its analysis: “Amid a downturn in the TV market, shipments of OLED panels for monitors—which feature relatively higher profitability—have climbed. In addition, the expansion of demand in the gaming market and for high-end IT devices has also contributed to this growth.”

South Korea’s Samsung Display is prioritizing the expansion of OLED panel shipments for monitors, with its quantum dot (QD)-OLED mass production lines as the core. As QD-OLED is increasingly adopted in high-end gaming monitors and creator-oriented products, the proportion of monitor panels in Samsung Display’s mid-to-large size OLED strategy has been gradually rising.

While maintaining its supply of WOLED-based TV panels, LG Display (LGD) is concentrating efforts on expanding OLED panel shipments for monitors. LGD expects to sustain the growth of OLED monitor panel shipments this year by acquiring new customers and improving production line utilization rates.

Chinese panel makers are also accelerating their entry into the OLED market for IT applications. BOE is gradually ramping up shipments of OLED panels for IT devices, and TCL CSOT plans to launch monitor panels employing its proprietary inkjet-printed OLED technology.

Jung Chang-wook, Vice President of UBI Research, noted: “In the mid-to-large size OLED market, the strategic core of panel makers is gradually shifting from TVs to monitors. Boosted by gaming, creator equipment and high-end IT devices, the OLED monitor market will keep expanding its application scenarios and maintaining growth momentum.”
