Recently, LG Electronics officially rolled out its new-generation MAGNIT Gen 2 Micro LED display (model LMPD), further expanding its footprint in the high-end display market. Combining LG’s proprietary Micro LED technology with NovaStar’s COEX 5G solution, the product caters to commercial display and premium residential segments, offering a more flexible platform-level solution for high-resolution, large-format display projects.

At its core, the MAGNIT Gen 2 adopts a high-bandwidth architecture that effectively reduces cabling demands. Enabled by SFP+ fiber optic links, the maximum signal transmission distance between the display panel and the controller has been drastically extended from roughly 100 meters to approximately 10 kilometers. LG noted that this enhancement provides system integrators with far greater design flexibility for deployments in large venues, luxury residences and other scenarios.
For visual performance, the new display supports an ultra-wide 160° viewing angle across both horizontal and vertical axes. It incorporates LG’s in-house developed tiling technology, which minimizes physical gaps and black level discrepancies across the screen through precise alignment of LED module seams. An upgraded low-gray level calibration algorithm further suppresses color shift and image noise. Additionally, the MAGNIT Gen 2 is compliant with HDR10 and HLG standards, delivering enhanced brightness, contrast and color reproduction.
The MAGNIT Gen 2 features a pixel pitch of 0.93 mm and a physical pixel density of 1,138,000 pixels per square meter. After calibration, it achieves a peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits and a contrast ratio of 40,000:1. Color temperature is adjustable from 2,000K to 10,000K, with brightness uniformity reaching 95% and chromaticity uniformity maintained within ±0.02 Cx/Cy. It supports a refresh rate of up to 7,680Hz, frame rates of 60Hz and 120Hz, and a 20-bit processing depth, with compatibility for both HDR10 and HDR10 Pro standards.
On the system management front, the display runs on NovaStar’s Vision Management Platform (VMP) software. The platform integrates real-time monitoring, fault diagnosis, advanced color processing and flexible system administration into a unified interface, enabling integrators to configure and operate Micro LED projects with higher efficiency.
