Omdia: 2025 Large-Size Display Panel Shipments Up 2.9% YoY

On January 20, data from Large-Size Display Panel Market Tracker (4Q25) by leading market research firm Omdia showed that global shipments of large-size display panels (including LCD and OLED) reached 910.5 million units in 2025, representing a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 2.9%. This growth rate, however, was lower than the 9.0% YoY rise recorded in 2024.

Among these, shipments of large-size LCD panels are projected to hit 876.8 million units in 2025, a 2.6% YoY growth. Omdia noted that as part of business restructuring, several panel manufacturers, particularly South Korean and Japanese suppliers, cut back on production investment in LCD TV panels throughout 2025. Additionally, panel makers outside China also scaled back production of LCD monitors amid fierce competition and price pressures.

Meanwhile, according to Omdia’s latest preliminary data, shipments of large-size OLED panels are expected to surge 12.9% YoY to approximately 33.7 million units in 2025. Specifically, OLED panel shipments for monitors and laptops are projected to jump 69.3% and 26.8% YoY respectively. In contrast, shipments of OLED TV panels are anticipated to register a mere 1.5% YoY growth over the same period.

In terms of the supplier landscape for 2025: for large-size LCD panel shipments, BOE is projected to rank first with a 36.2% market share, followed by CSOT with 16.4% and Innolux with 11.7%. For large-size OLED panel shipments, Samsung Display is expected to maintain its leading position with a 50.9% share, LG Display ranks second at 31.8%, and Everdisplay Optronics comes in third at 14.8%.

For the overall large-size display panel market (LCD + OLED) by shipment volume, BOE is forecast to take the top spot with a 35.0% market share, trailed by CSOT at 15.8% and Innolux at 11.3%.
