The report notes that ASUS is set to launch the world’s first 24.5-inch OLED gaming monitor built for esports. For this product, ASUS will adopt a dual-sourcing strategy for its OLED panels, with BOE and LGD acting as joint suppliers.

Driven by rapid advances in panel refresh rate technology, OLED has gradually penetrated the monitor market. Meanwhile, 24.5-inch displays — the preferred size for professional esports players — have entered the large-scale mass production phase. Against this backdrop, ASUS decided to roll out relevant products ahead of competitors to seize first-mover advantage in this emerging market.

At the same time, as consumer demand for OLED gaming monitors continues to rise, OLED’s share of ASUS’s gaming monitor sales has also grown rapidly. Data from global market research firm Omdia shows that OLED monitors accounted for just 1.9% of ASUS’s total monitor sales in 2022, a figure that surged to 43.2% last year.
