Global OLED Panel Shipment Area to Post a 5.6% CAGR from 2025 to 2030

On May 26, Sigmaintell released its latest statistics. The global OLED panel market continued to grow in 2025, with the total shipment area reaching 20.4 million square meters, representing a year-on-year increase of 22%.

In 2025, the OLED market showed distinct trends: stable performance for smartphone panels, explosive growth in IT displays, and rapid expansion in automotive applications. Going into 2026, the mass production of Gen 8.6 OLED lines will bring down manufacturing costs and further accelerate OLED penetration in the mid-size display segment.

Nevertheless, the industry will face temporary growth headwinds. Rising memory chip prices have pushed up costs for end products; the overall replacement cycle of consumer electronics has lengthened; panel production capacity is being released intensively; and distributors are actively destocking inventory. Against this backdrop, end-device brands have lowered their shipment targets. The global OLED panel shipment area is expected to dip slightly year-on-year. Major panel makers have also adjusted production utilization rates and reduced purchases of upstream raw materials accordingly.

From a medium-to-long-term perspective, fueled by strong demand for mid-size products including IT and automotive displays, the global OLED panel shipment area will maintain a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 5.6% from 2025 to 2030, and is forecast to hit 26.8 million square meters by 2030. The industry is still in a healthy upward cycle.

Domestic OLED panel shipments will keep gaining traction, climbing from approximately 5.3 million square meters in 2025 to 7.8 million square meters in 2030.
